Academia-Industry Program: Round Table Discussion for Development of Graduate Engineering & Technological Business School (GET-BS)

A Round Table Discussion on the Academia-Industry Program for the Graduate Engineering & Technological Business School (GET-BS) was organized by the Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM) at Seri Pacific Hotel. The primary objective of this program was to gather valuable insights from industry leaders regarding the anticipated skills, knowledge, and programme for the establishment and development of the Graduate Engineering & Technological Business School (GET-BS).
The program gathered participation from 10 diverse industries, including Tanah Makmur Berhad, Petronas Digital Sdn Bhd, Proton Holdings Berhad, Bosch Rexroth Sdn Bhd, Project Management Institute Malaysia Chapter (PMIMY), AEON Digital Bank, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Asia Honour Paper Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd, eCEOs Sdn Bhd, and Black & Veatch (M) Sdn Bhd.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic & International Affair UMPSA, Lt. Kol. Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman had chaired the session, on behalf of Vice Chancellor of UMPSA. The representatives from FIM UMPSA include:
1) The Dean of Faculty of Industrial Management - Dr. Mohd Hanafiah Ahmad
2) The Deputy Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies) - Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang
3) Head of Program (MBA, MPM & PSH) - Dr. Noraina Mazuin Sapuan
4) Coordinator of MBA - Dr. Khairunnisa Abdul Aziz
Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman highlighted that the name Graduate Engineering & Technological Business School (GET-BS) itself signifies the alignment with UMPSA as a leading technical university, and it resonates with the broader goals set by Malaysian Technical Universities, MTUN Higher TVET 2030. The direction is clear, grounded in a vision that aligns with the national educational aspirations outlined in the Higher TVET 2030 framework.
Through this Academia- Industry Program: Round Table Discussion, the industry leaders had given tremendous and various ideas for UMPSA in recognizing the necessary actions, potential skills and programmes to offer in these evolving fields and industry.
