PMI-GAC Visit for FIM Project Management Program Accreditation Renewal Audit

UMPSA recently hosted a visit from the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center (PMI GAC) to the Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM) for an audit of its Project Management program, part of the accreditation renewal process.

The audit team, led by Mr. Derek Poon from Malaysia, included Dr. Sandeep Mathur from Australia and Dr. Shaligram Pokharel from Doha, who participated virtually. The FIM accreditation team welcomed the delegation.

The FIM accreditation team comprised:

1. Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang – Head of Accreditation Team / Deputy Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies)

2. Dr. Nurhaizan Binti Mohd Zainudin – Head of Program (Project Management)

3. Dr. Ahmad Huzaimi Bin Abd Jamil – Head of Research Cluster (Project Management)

4. Dr. Zarith Sufia Binti Azlan – Quality Coordinator

5. Dr. Azi Izwani Binti Nor Hamzah – Senior Lecturer

6. Dr. Mohammad Waffy Bin Fazil – Senior Lecturer

7. Madam Fadzida Ismail - Lecturer

This was PMI GAC’s second visit to FIM, following their initial accreditation visit. The current audit focused on renewing the program's accreditation, affirming its adherence to international professional standards. The inclusion of auditors from Malaysia, Australia, and Doha highlights the global importance of this renewal process.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs and International), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad bin Sulaiman, met with the delegation during a reception at Hotel Grand Darul Makmur, Kuantan, on November 20, 2024. The event was also attended by FIM Dean Dr. Mohd Hanafiah bin Ahmad and the Deputy Deans.
