Gambang, 18 September 2025 – The Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully organised a two-day workshop titled “SmartPLS 4: Toward Top 2% Scientist” on 17 and 18 September 2025 at Dewan Tun Fatimah, UMPSA Gambang.
The workshop, held from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, attracted participation from both staff and students. It was designed to strengthen research skills in Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using the latest version of SmartPLS 4 software. Participants were guided through both basic and advanced applications, while also receiving exclusive tips and strategies to elevate their research profiles toward the achievement of top 2% scientist recognition.
The sessions were led by Prof. Ramayah Thurasamy from Universiti Sains Malaysia, a distinguished scholar in quantitative research methods and PLS-SEM applications. His comprehensive lectures and practical demonstrations provided valuable insights, particularly for those aiming to publish in high-impact journals.
The event, offered free of charge to staff and at a minimal fee of RM100 for FIM students, was well received and lauded for its practical relevance and research enrichment. According to feedback from participants, the workshop not only enhanced their technical expertise in PLS-SEM but also motivated them to pursue excellence in academic research.
By hosting this initiative, UMPSA reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing research excellence and supporting its academic community in achieving global recognition in impactful scholarship.
